Yaskawa was founded in 1915 in Kitakyushu, Japan by Keiichiro Yasukawa and today employs over 15,000 people. The company is the inventor of the mechatronics term and world market leader in servo drives (Sigma-7). The MOTOMAN industrial robots are in use worldwide with over 500,000 units sold. Yaskawa is a pioneer in matrix converters and has created a platform for data-driven production with the i³-Mechatronics concept.
