Pilz was founded in 1948 by Hermann Pilz in Esslingen and is today managed as a family business in the third generation. With 2,500 employees, Pilz is the specialist for safe automation. The company invented the first emergency stop relay PNOZ in 1987 and today leads in configurable safety relays (myPNOZ), safety PLCs (PSS 4000), and camera systems (SafetyEYE). Pilz is significantly involved in standards such as ISO 13849 and IEC 62443.
