HEIDENHAIN was founded in 1889 by Wilhelm Heidenhain in Berlin and today employs over 8,000 people. After World War II, the company was rebuilt in Traunreut. HEIDENHAIN is the world market leader in linear and angular encoders as well as CNC controls for machine tools. The TNC controls (e.g., TNC 640) are standard in 5-axis milling machines. The ECN/EQN series encoders set benchmarks in precision and repeatability.
